UNL Names Ballerina Misty Copeland Speaker for the E.N. Thompson Forum on World Issues

Ballerina Misty Copeland has inspired people around the world. She will share her story at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's E.N. Thompson Forum on World Issues.
The event takes place at the Kimball Recital Hall on February 13th at 7 p.m. The Lied Center of Performing Arts is presenting, "A Conversation with Misty Copeland."
On January 8th, a limited number of tickets will be available at the Lied Center for $10. There will also be some free tickets available for UNL students.
Copeland has made her mark with the American Ballet Theatre, where she became the first black female principal dancer in 2015. She began performing ballet at the age of 13, but quickly became a prodigy.
Copeland originally joined the American Ballet Theatre as the ABT's National Coca-Cola Scholar in 2000. In 2013, the Boys & Girls Club of America was named the National Youth of the Year Ambassador.
Copeland was appointed to the President's Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition. She was named one of the Time's 100 most influential people in the world in 2015.
