UNC Asheville Names Dillard University President Walter Kimbrough Speaker for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Keynote

In two weeks, UNC Asheville will host a variety of events to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. These activities will culminate in a keynote lecture on January 19th from Dillard University president Walter Kimbrough.
The speaking engagement takes place at 7 p.m. at Lipinsky Auditorium. Official events begin on January 16th with a Day of Service, where students, faculty and staff will go out in the community to help various non-profits.
There will be further documentary screenings and discussions throughout the week. All events, including the Kimbrough lecture, are free and open to the public.
Kimbrough became Dillard's seventh president in 2012. From 2004-12, he was the president of Phlander Smith Colleg.
In 2015, TheBestSchools.org named Kimbrough one of the 20 Most Interesting College Presidents. Several outlets have put him on their lists of the top college presidents to follow on Twitter.
Kimbrough is well-respected for his research on African-Americans and higher education as well as fraternities and sororities. He is the author of, "Black Greek 101: The Culture, Customs and Challenges of Black Fraternities and Sororities.
