Carson Ingle
Wayne Chang launched what would ultimately become a successful career as a technology entrepreneur at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Next month, he gets to return to campus to speak to a new generation of UMass students.
Chang is the featured speaker at the school's 2016 Undergraduate Commencement. He will speak on May 6th at McGuirk Alumni Stadium.
In addition to speaking, Chang will be awarded an honorary doctorate. UMass Amherst will confer about 5,500 bachelor's degrees at the ceremony.
Chang is currently the director of product strategy at Twitter. He assumed his role after they bought his mobile crash reporting site Crashlytics for over $100 million in 2013.
Chang is something of a child prodigy when it comes to successful tech ventures. He wrote his first software program at the age of seven and was part of Napster's team while in high school.
At UMass Amherst, Chang created a Facebook-like platform called i2hub. He has also been a successful angel investor, getting in on the ground floor on companies like Draft Kings, JetSmarter, and SURKUS.
