TV Icons Dan Rather and Robin Roberts Named Keynote Speakers at National School Boards Association Conference

This April, public education leaders from across America will head to Boston in part to hear from two legendary faces of television. Dan Rather and Robin Roberts are keynote speakers at the National School Boards Association conference to be held April 9-11 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center.
Rather will speak at 8:30 a.m. on the conference's opening day while Roberts will present at 10:00 a.m. the following morning. In addition to the general session speakers, there are several pre-conference workshops and an exposition that highlights the latest education innovations.
Early-bird registration is still available for $915 and after January 15th that rate goes up to $965. The price to attend the full-day Friday workshop is $320.
Rather was the anchor of the CBS Evening News for 24 years from 1981-2005. He currently is managing editor and anchor of Dan Rather Reports on AXS TV.
Overall, Rather was an institution at CBS, working with the network for 43 years an appearing on other programs like the news magazine show, 60 Minutes. He has won seven Peabody Awards and was inducted into the Television Hall of Fame in 2004.
Roberts is the anchor of ABC's Good Morning America and has been working with GMA in some capacity since 1995. She also became a favorite of sports fans for her 15-year run at ESPN.
Many have a great deal of respect for Roberts after her public battles with breast cancer and myelodysplastic syndrome, a rare bone marrow disease. She was honored with the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the 2013 ESPYs for spreading awareness about the bone marrow condition and increasing donor levels.
