America's favorite weatherman will be helping one Catholic church raise money this fall. Today's Al Roker is the keynote speaker at the annual Bishop's Dinner for Catholic Schools in the Sioux City Diocese.
The event will be held on September 24th at the Sioux City Convention Center in Iowa. Roker's appearance marks the 20th anniversary of the fundraiser.
Last year's dinner raised nearly $200,000 for 16 schools throughout northwest Iowa. Tickets for this year will officially go on sale August 15th.
Roker became a staple across the country when he joined Today on a full-time basis as Today's weekday weatherman in 1996. Since then, he has endeared himself to audiences with his affable personality.
There has also been the opportunity for Roker to branch out with other TV projects. From 2009-2015, he hosted his own morning show, "Wake Up with Al" on The Weather Channel.
Roker has hosted several programs on the Food Network as well. He is the bestselling author of four books.
