The Fair Media Council is getting an industry expert for their Connection Day on October 21st. The Marshall Project Editor-In-Chief Bill Keller sill speak at the event that is hosted on Long Island.
The daylong conference serves as a top event in the country for news media. It brings industry experts together for a day of building relationships and pitching stories.

Keller was a staffer at The New York Times from 1984 to 2014 and for nearly a decade, he was the executive editor of the Times. Most notably, he covered the Soviet Union's collapse that he won a Pulitzer Prize for.
There were also two stints in Keller's time at the Times when he served as an Op-Ed columnist. Before joining the paper, he worked at The Dallas Times Herald, the Congressional Quarterly Weekly Report and The Portland Oregonian.
Currently, Keller serves as Editor-In-Chief of The Marshall Project. The outlet serves as an online resource that covers the U.S. criminal justice system.
