The Texas Conference for Women has reeled in a big name keynote speaker for the fall.  Human rights lawyer Amal Clooney will address the attendees on November 15th.

The conference is being held in Austin at the Austin Convention Center.  It serves to connect women and provide them a platform to find motivation towards what they want to do.

In addition, there will be several breakout sessions and business roundtables.  Individual tickets for the event run $150 while a table of ten costs $1,500.

Clooney has handled several high-profile cases around the world as a barrister for the London-based Doughty Street Chambers.  She represented the first democratically elected president of The Maldives when he was sentenced to prison under an anti-terror law.

Currently, Clooney represents a female journalist who is being detained in Azerbaijan after exposing government corruption.  With her experience, she lends great credibility as a visiting human rights professor at Columbia Law School.

Clooney gained greater worldwide exposure through her marriage to actor and fellow human rights activist George Clooney.  She received her Masters of Law degree from New York University.
