Talk Show Host Leeza Gibbons Gives Keynote Address at Annual “Power of Purse” Luncheon

The Power of the Purse luncheon annually unites women from eastern Carolina who are looking to maximize their lives. This year, they got to hear from someone who has capitalized on her opportunities, talk show host Leeza Gibbons.
Gibbons addressed attendees at the 11th annual luncheon on May 4th. She had a core message of optimism and said that women create their own destiny.
The event was held in Greenville, North Carolina at the Greenville Convention Center. Proceeds went towards local grants.
From 1984-2000, Gibbons became a national name as a correspondent and co-host on Entertainment Tonight. She also had her own daytime talk show "Leeza" that was syndicated across the country from 1993-2000.
More recently, Gibbons won a Daytime Emmy for her hosting duties on PBS' "My Generation". She co-hosted and served as an executive producer on the syndicated news magazine show "America Now" as well.
In 2013, Gibbons released the book "Take 2" that became a New York Times bestseller. Last year, she won the seventh season of "Celebrity Apprentice" after raising $714,000 for her charity, Leeza's Care Connection.
