SXSW Names Transparent Creator Jill Soloway One of First Keynote Speakers for 2017

SXSW is starting to unveil their list of speakers for the 2017 conference. One of their keynote speakers will be Transparent creator Jill Soloway.
The event is held in Austin, Texas from March 10-17. Speakers come from an array of fields including business, film, music and technology.
Basketball legend Magic Johnson has also been announced as a keynote speaker. Soloway should provide an interesting perspective to this year's conference.
Soloway is best known at the director of the Amazon series, "Transparent". The show chronicles the journey of a family who finds out their father is transgender.
Last year, the series was the first streaming show to win the Golden Globe for Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy. Soloway is no stranger to awards in her career, winning Best Director at the Sundance Film Festival for "Afternoon Delight".
Early in her career, Soloway was a writer for several different television shows. She got a major break working on the HBO series "Six Feet Under" as a writer and co-executive producer for four seasons.
