SXSW Names Disco Architect Nile Rodgers as Latest Keynote Speaker

SXSW continues to roll out an impressive lineup of speakers for 2017. Disco legend Nile Rodgers is one of the latest keynote presenters announced.
Rodgers will be at the Austin Convention Center on March 15th. He will certainly address his role as being a pioneer of dance music and where he sees the entertainment industry as a whole today.
SXSW runs March 10-19 and over 200 artists have been confirmed to perform. Registration is currently open and their is a special sign-up rate available that runs through Friday.
Rodgers perfected the disco sound as the co-founded and lead guitarist of Chic. The band has been active since 1976 and he has also gone out on his own at times as a solo artist.
Collaborating with music icons as a producer however is where Rodgers has found his greatest success. His work with Daft Punk on "Random Access Memories" led to three Grammy Awards in 2014.
Chic's hit single, "Le Freak," is also in the Grammy Hall of Fame. Rodgers is a member of the Dance Music Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
