This week, noted "Shark Tank" investor Barbara Corcoran spoke to a unique group of industry leaders. Corcoran addressed the crowd at the closing session of the 97th American Farm Bureau Federation Annual Convention and IDEAg Trade Show.
She talked to the farmers and ranchers about commanding their image and being active with establishing their brand. Corcoran says that by following that blueprint, they can establish greater credibility with their customers.
The convention was held from January 8-13 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. The American Farm Bureau Federation is the largest agricultural organization in the country.
Corcoran has been the main star of Shark Tank for all seven seasons of the show. Along the way, she has invested in many businesses, including several in the food industry.
After co-founding The Corcoran Group on a $1,000 loan in 1973, Corcoran made it big in the real estate business. In 2001, she sold her company to NRT Incorporated for $66 million.
Corcoran has been a successful author and writer for publications like The New York Daily News, More Magazine, Redbook, and The Daily Review. She has been a real estate contributor on The Today Show and hosted "The Millionaire Broker with Barbara Corcoran" on CNBC.
