Sex Therapist Ruth Westheimer Speaks at West Point Summit in September

There is no sex therapist better known throughout the world than Dr. Ruth Westheimer.  In September, West Point is bringing her in to speak at their Sexual Harassment and Assault Response and Prevention summit. 

The summit will take place September 29-30 and the theme of Westheimer's speech is "Sex Boundaries".  It has become an annual program run by the Army's SHARP organization. 

There will be several other topics addressed throughout the two days.  Minimizing these issues has been a priority of West Point Superintendent Lt. Gen. Robert L. Caslen Jr. since he took over in 2013.  

In the 1980's, Westheimer was a pioneer when it comes to talking openly about sexual issues.  Her radio program "Sexually Speaking" in New York City and quickly spread through syndication across the country. 

The radio product carried over to the television side with a syndicated show of the same name.  Also, Westheimer grew in popularity nationally with appearances on "Late Night with David Letterman".   

In 2009, Playboy named Westheimer as one of the 55 most important people in sex in the last 55 years.  She remains a popular speaker and go-to expert on all these issues today.
