Scottish Business Awards Announces Academy Award Winner Leonardo DiCaprio as Keynote Speaker

The Scottish Business Awards have landed one of the biggest stars in the world as their keynote speaker.  Academy Award-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio will speak at the festivities on November 17th. 

The event is considered the largest business awards dinner in the UK.  There will be over 2000 Scottish industry leaders and entrepreneurs in attendance at the EICC in Edinburgh.  

Some of the past keynote speakers include former U.S. President Bill Clinton, famed actor George Clooney and world-renowned entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson.  DiCaprio was not only sought after for the occasion due to his star power, but also because of the humanitarian work he does via the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation. 

DiCaprio leaped to fame with his role in the 1996 record-breaking film, "Titantic".  He received the first of seven Golden Globe nominations for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama.  

In addition, DiCaprio has received six Academy Award nominations.  He finally captured his first Oscar in the Best Actor category this year for "The Revenant".  

Some of DiCaprio's other most memorable roles were playing real-life personalities Howard Hughes in "The Aviator" and Jordan Belfort "The Wolf of Wall Street".  One of the roles that helped launch his career was his recurring appearances on the ABC sitcom "Growing Pains".
