Save the Children’s Mark Shriver Named Commencement Speaker at La Roche College

Mark Shriver has taken a famous family name and expanded on it in incredible ways. His work as a public servant will be front and center when he delivers the commencement address to graduates at La Roche College.
Shriver will speak to the Class of 2016 at 10 a.m. on May 7th at the Kerr Fitness & Sports Center. He will also receive an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from the school.
Tickets for the commencement are distributed to graduating students. Each student is allowed up to four tickets.
Shriver is the president of Save the Children Action Network. The organization focuses on an array of children's issues both at home and abroad.
From 1994 to 2002, Shriver was a member of the Maryland House of Delegates. During his time there, he was a point person for several children and family initiatives.
Shriver wrote the bestselling memoir "A Good Man: Rediscovering My Father, Sargent Shriver" in 2013. Later this year, his book about Pope Francis' impact on the world will be released.
