Saint Peter’s University Names France A. Cordova Commencement Speaker

One of the most impressive female leaders in the fields of education, science, and technology in recent years has been France A. Cordova. She will try to impart her wisdom upon graduates at Saint Peter's University this spring.
Cordova was named the commencement speaker for the school's May 23rd ceremony. The 125th graduation proceeding will be held at the PNC Bank Arts Center off-campus.
In addition to her presentation, Cordova will be bestowed an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters. Each graduate is allowed ten invitations for the ceremony.
Cordova was sworn in as director of the National Science Foundation in 2014. She leads the government agency that presides over scientific discoveries and education.
Prior to assuming her post at the NSF, Cordova was the 11th President of Purdue University from 2007-2012. She has also served as Chancellor at the University of Cal-Riverside and Vice Chancellor for Research at the University of Cal-Santa Barbara.
In 1993, Cordova became the youngest person and first woman to serve as NASA Chief Scientist. She received the space organization's highest honor, the Distinguished Service Medal, in 2000.
