Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore Keynotes The Palaska Forum Next Month

One of Africa's top business leaders is speaking in August at The Palaska Forum.  Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore will speak about the success he has achieved with the communications company. 

The Palaska Forum is a quarterly meeting that was established to encourage young entrepreneurs.  This particular forum runs August 5-6 in Uganda. 

Collymore is keynoting two events.  One is a free session for young people on August 6th while the other is a professional leadership development event for senior managers on the 5th. 

Collymore has been CEO of Safaricom since 2010 and is also a Governance director at Vodafone.  Prior to arriving at Safaricom, he served as the chief officer for corporate affairs at Vodacom Group Limited. 

One of the more important things Collymore is credited as the pioneer of M-PESA.  M-PESA is considered the most developed mobile payment service in the world. 

Collymore was raised in Guyana, but holds British citizenship.  He completed his schooling at Selhurst High School for Boys in London.
