RootsTech 2017 Names Cake Boss Star Buddy Valastro Keynote Speaker

RootsTech 2017 is bringing in a top celebrity chef to keynote their conference.  Buddy Valastro is speaking at the event on February 11th.  

RootsTech is family history conference that takes place at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.  Valastro will talk about his own background and how that has shaped his career going forward. 

In addition to speaking, Valastro will also judge a cake decorating competition.  There will be four categories in the contest: wedding, birthday, holiday and graduation. 

Valastro is a fourth generation baker who presides over Carlo's Bakery in Hoboken, New Jersey.  He has grown his brand through the TLC reality series, "Cake Boss", which is currently in its eighth season.

Due to the publicity of Cake Boss, there are now several other bakeries throughout the U.S. bearing the Carlo's name.  Valastro has starred on several other shows as well including, "Kitchen Boss", "The Next Great Baker" and "Buddy's Bakery Rescue".  

In addition to Carlo's, Valastro has branched out on his own.  He has taken his family's Italian recipes and opened his first restaurant, "Buddy V's", in Las Vegas.
