One of the most influential African American pastors in the country has a busy schedule of speaking engagements centered around upcoming Martin Luther King Jr. Day events. Those appearances start Saturday in Dallas, where Reverend Jamal Harrison Bryant will speak at the MLK Awards Banquet and Silent Auction.

On Monday, he will start his day in St. Petersburg, Florida at the MLK Leadership Awards Breakfast.  Then that night, Rev. Bryant will speak at The Nepperhan Community Center's annual event in Yonkers, New York.

Bryant's speech in St. Petersburg is near a sellout with the others expected to also be well attended.  Later in the month, his footprints will be placed in the prestigious International Civil Rights Walk of Fame outside Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta.

Rev. Bryant is the lead pastor at Baltimore's Empowerment Temple Church, where he has a weekly congregation of over 10,000.  He founded the church in 1999 and has grown his following through a large digital and television footprint.

In 2013, Bryant was selected as one of the speakers for the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington.  He has addressed numerous crowds around the country and all over the world.

Prior to becoming a pastor, Bryant was the director of the NAACP's youth and college division.  He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Political Science and International Studies from Morehouse College and a master's degree in Divinity from Duke University.
