Apr 21 2016
Carson Ingle
There are not many people who have had more distinguished careers in television news than Marvin Kalb. That makes Kalb an ideal guest to kick off the latest run in The George C. Marshall International Center Speaker Series.
Tomorrow, he will speak at the center of his newest book. In "Imperial Gamble: Putin, Ukraine and the New Cold War", Kalb put Russian politics under a greater spotlight.
Kalb's presentation begins at noon and tickets are $20. Proceeds from the event go towards maintaining The Marshall House.
Kalb had a 30-year career as a reporter for CBS News and NBC News. From 1984-1987, he was the moderator of the signature Sunday morning NBC political program "Meet the Press".
Today, Kalb impacts an entirely new generation of journalists. He serves as the Edward R. Murrow Professor of Practice and Senior Fellow at Harvard University's Joan Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics and Public Policy.
Kalb is also a non-resident senior fellow in foreign policy at the Brookings Institute. In addition to his most recent release, he has written two best-selling novels and several works of non-fiction.
