Research Professor Philip Altbach Kicks Off Seton Hall Speaker Series

The Higher Education Distinguished Speaker Series kicked off its first season last month with a top research professor.  The series at Seton Hall University welcomed Philip Altbach to campus. 

Altbach spoke in the Science Amphitheatre in McNulty Hall at 6 p.m. on October 31st.  His lecture was titled, "The Global Academic Revolution: What Does It Mean for U.S.?"

There was a panel discussion that followed Altbach's presentation.  It was free and open to the public. 

Altbach serves as the Monan Professor Emeritus of Higher Education at Boston College.  He is also the Director Emeritus of the Center for International Higher Education at BC. 

From 2004-2006, Altbach was the Fulbright Distinguished Scholar Leader for the New Century Scholars initiative.  He has been a senior associate at the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching as well. 

Altbach is the author of over 20 books.  He holds a bachelor's, master's and doctorate degree from the University of Chicago.
