As the founder of Radio One, Cathy Hughes was a pioneer in the field of African American business. She will lean on her inspiring story of success when she keynotes the Women of Color Empowerment Conference this September.
The conference runs September 9-11 at the Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort. WOCEC seeks to equip and motivate women of color to be effective leaders.
The WOCEC theme is, "Media Images of Women of Color". To attend Hughes presentation, registration is $100.
Hughes is a media pioneer, founding Radio One which eventually expanded into TV One. When the company went public in 1998, she became the first African-American woman to head a publicly-traded company.
Radio One currently is the leading urban radio entity with 56 different stations that encompass an array of genres. It is the first female-run station to rank first in any major market.
Hughes has won no shortage of awards for her impressive accomplishments. She is also a member of the American Advertising Federation Hall of Fame.
