Popular Recording Artist Melissa Etheridge Speaks at Rose of Hope Luncheon in June

Through her own personal experience, singer-songwriter Melissa Etheridge has become a powerful speaker for breast cancer awareness. As a result, the Rose of Hope luncheon was thrilled to get her as their keynote speaker.
Etheridge will headline the June 14th luncheon at a to be named location in Connecticut. The event benefits the Norma F. Pfriem Breast Care Center at Bridgeport Hospital.
Proceeds particularly benefit women in need at the Pfriem Center. In addition to speaking, Etheridge will also sing.
Following her 2004 battle with breast cancer, Etheridge gave a memorable performance at the 2005 Grammys. She wrote the song "I Run for Life" as an anthem for Race for a Cure as well.
Etheridge had enjoyed nearly three decades of success at the height of the music world. She has been nominated for 15 Grammys and won two.
Also, Etheridge won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 1997 with "I Need to Wake Up" from the film "An Inconvenient Truth". In 2011, she was given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
