In this season of political unrest, two noted pundits came to speak at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville on Tuesday.  Cal Thomas and Juan Williams gave a presentation titled, "Crossroads: A Conversation About America's Future".

The discussion was sponsored by the College of Arts & Sciences Arts & Issues program.  It was held at 7:30 p.m in the Morris University Center Meridian Ballroom.

The pair talked about the polarization in U.S. politics and failings of the system as a whole.  There was great banter back and forth with Thomas and Williams coming from opposite sides of the spectrum.

Thomas is the author of ten different books.  In the past, he worked for NBC News and was also an award-winning host for CBNC.

Williams has been a Fox News analyst since 1997.  He has been a co-host on "The Five" and a regular fill-in on "The O'Reilly Factor".

At NPR, Williams served as a senior national correspondent for ten years.  He also had a 23-year tenure at The Washington Post and covered every major political campaign from 1980-2000.
