Lucas Boyce has a tremendous story of achievement against the odds. He will share the circumstances of his uncommon life on October 18th at Daytona State College.
Boyce's appearance is a part of the L. Gale Lemerand Entrepreneurial Speaker Series. The event is hosted by the college and the Small Business Development Center.
The presentation starts at 9:30 on campus at the Mori Hosseini Center. It is a free event that is open to the public.
Boyce has held impressive positions in the worlds of politics and professional sports. He now tours the country as a motivational speaker, talking about overcoming obstacles and leadership.
Despite being born into poverty and entering the foster care system, Boyce has led a successful life. He worked in the White House in the Office of Political Affairs.
Following his run in politics, Boyce had several different roles with the NBA's Orlando Magic, rising to the position of director of business development. In 2011, he published the book, "Living Proof: From Foster Care to the White House and the NBA", that chronicles his journey.
