Charles Krauthammer is one of the most influential Jewish voices in the U.S. That made him the perfect choice for the Boca-Delray Community Event of the American Friends of Magen David Adom.
Magen David Adom is Israel's version of the American Red Cross. Krauthammer delivered his speech on the evening of February 29th at St. Andrews Country Club in Boca Raton, Florida.
In addition to his presentation, a record-breaking $25 million donation was also announced. The gift will go towards a new national blood center in Ramla, Israel.
Krauthammer writes a weekly column addressing political issues for The Washington Post that is syndicated in hundreds of newspapers. He is also a Fox News contributor who appears each evening on "Special Report with Bret Baier".
Krauthammer originally joined The Post in 1984 and won a Pulitzer Prize in 1987. From 1990-2013, he was a weekly panelist on the PBS program "Inside Washington".
Early in his career, Krauthammer was a contributor to The New Republic and a speech writer for U.S. Vice President Walter Mondale. He attended several different universities and graduated with two bachelor's degrees from McGill in Montreal, Canada.
