Some of the world's top thinkers and business leaders spoke last week at Dreamforce.  Philanthropist Melinda Gates was one of the top names on a list of nearly 70 speakers.

Dreamforce ran from October 4-7 and was held in San Francisco, California.  It is an annual event with 2000 plus sessions that have something tailored for almost every industry.

On Wednesday, Gates participated in a fireside chat with ABC "Good Morning America" co-anchor Robin Roberts.  They spoke about the state of women, ways to be charitable and technology diversity.

Gates is the wife of Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates.  She serves as the co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Throughout the last 15 years, the Gates have grown their organization into the largest private foundation in the world.  Prior to focusing on philanthropy, she was an executive at Microsoft.

Gates rose to the title of General Manager of Information Products.  She holds a bachelor's degree from Duke University and a master's from the Fuqua School of Business.
