Peace Researcher Severine Autesserre Speaks at Colgate University

Peace researcher Severine Autesserre spread her message recently at Colgate University. She gave the ninth annual Peter C. Schaehrer Lecture on September 29th.
The speech was organized by Colgate's Peace and Conflict Studies Department. Autesserre's presentation was held in the Love Auditorium on campus.
The title of her lecture was, "Peaceland: Conflict Resolution and the Everyday Politics of International Intervention". It is the same as the title of Autesserre's recently released book.
That book received the 2016 Best Book of the Year Award from the International Studies Association. Autesserre serves as an Associate Professor of Political Science at Barnard College.
Her areas of expertise include African politics, civil wars, humanitarian aid, peacebuilding and peacekeeping. Currently, Autesserre is exploring the concept of peacebuilding deeper as a Carnegie Fellow.
Before becoming a professor, Autesserre held various positions in development and humanitarian agencies in countries like Afghanistan, Kosovo and India. She holds a post-doctorate degree from Yale University and a Ph.D. from New York University.
