As a star of the hit Netflix series "Orange is the New Black", Diane Guerrero has a large platform on one of the most popular shows running today. She recently got the opportunity to keynote a special event at the American Library Association Annual Conference.
Guerrero spoke at the ALA President's Program on June 26th from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. The conference was held from June 23-28 in Orlando, Florida.
The week featured over 2,000 events and hundreds of author appearances. There were 700 companies at the exhibition portion of the conference to show off the latest products for libraries.
Guerrero has starred as Maritza Ramos on OITNB since 2013. Her performance has helped the cast win two Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.
Guerrero is also known for her other current role on the CW series "Jane the Virgin". The show began in 2014 and season three premieres in October.
Recently, Guerrero penned the memoir "In the Country We Love: My Family Divide". Last year, she was named a White House ambassador for citizenship and naturalization.
