As someone who devotes her professional life to public radio, Neda Ulaby is uniquely qualified to speak about its benefits. She will have the opportunity to do just that on April 6th at the kick-off to KRCU's Spring Membership Drive.
Southeast Missouri State welcomes Ulaby as the keynote speaker at their membership breakfast. The breakfast starts at 8 a.m. at the Barbara Hope Kem Statuary Hall at the Aleen Vogel Wehking Alumni Center.
In addition to her keynote, Ulaby will also speak with students in individual classes. KRCU listeners are welcome to attend the complimentary breakfast.
Ulaby works for NPR's Art Desk covering arts and entertainment. She has profiled some of the top names in entertainment like Tyler Perry and Ryan Seacrest.
Culturetopia, Ulaby's weekly NPR arts podcast, won a Gracie award from the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation. She originally joined the company in 2000 after being recruited through the Next Generation Radio program.
Ulaby has had multiple fellowships at the Getty Arts Journalism Program at USC Anneberg and a fellowship at the Knight Center for Specialized Journalism. Prior to arriving at NPR, she worked as an editor for several publications in Chicago and taught humanities classes at the University of Chicago and Northern Illinois University.
