NPR News Senior Editor Ron Elving Speaks at Yale Democracy Colloquium

National Public Radio senior editor Ron Elving is a respected individual in news.  This past Saturday, he was able to share some thoughts at the first-ever Yale Political Union Democracy Colloquium. 

Elving was one of several keynote speakers and presented in Sudler Hall.  He talked about how media outlets effect politics. 

The Colloquium drew attendees from several different schools.  There was also a debate put on by the YPU as part of the festivities.  

Elving works out of Washington as a senior editor and correspondent at NPR News.  He also contributes regularly at NPR.org.  

Outside of the media realm, Elving is an adjunct professor at American University.  This year, he received the University Faculty Award for Outstanding Teaching in an Adjunct Appointment. 

Before coming to NPR, Elving was a political editor at USA Today and Congressional Quarterly.  His work has been published by the American Political Science Association and the Brookings Institution.
