MythBusters Co-Host Jamie Hyneman Speaks at IU Bloomington’s Undergraduate Commencement

Mythbusters Co-host Jamie Hyneman is certainly a popular television figure. His level of notoriety should make him a welcome guest as the speaker at IU Bloomington's undergraduate commencement.
The ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. on May 7th at IU Memorial Stadium. Commencement is free and open to the public, while campus parking for the event is also free.
Those who cannot make it to campus may watch a live web stream of the graduation. Hyneman actually graduated from IU with a bachelor's degree in Russian language and linguistics.
Following his 1981 graduation, Hyneman ran a charter business in the Carribean before settling back in the U.S. to work on film effects. He spent 20 years in the industry and eventually founded M5 Industries in San Francisco.
This year, MythBusters aired for its 14th and final season. Hyneman was an original member of the cast and has inspired many to pursue careers in science through the compelling presentation of the program.
While working on MythBusters, Hyneman also was on projects for organizations like the National Reconnaissance Office and the U.S. Army. He remains based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
