A top motivational speaker recently paid a visit to South Bend, Indiana for Hispanic Heritage Month. Roy Juarez Jr. came to John Adams High School to present to the students.
Juarez's appearance was sponsored the John Adams High School International Organization. He spoke a great deal about his tough past and how he came to be successful in life.
Students certainly felt the impact of Juarez's speech, coming up and thanking him afterward. The same day, he also spoke in town at Navarre Intermediate Center.
Juarez was homeless as a teenager and a high school dropout. He overcame the odds to graduate from Hardin-Simmons University and while in school founded the human development company American Business Leaders.
In 2009, Juarez's story gained national notoriety when he appeared in a CNN segment for Latinos in America. That led to an appearance in "Chicken Soup for the Soul: Extraordinary Teens".
Since Juarez has become a speaker talking about issues like diversity and homelessness. He has been able to speak to over 100,000 people throughout his presentations.
