Motivational Speaker Les Brown Addresses Students at Sacramento State

Students at Sacramento State University will get a boost of inspiration at Student Academic Success Day. On September 26th, motivational speaker Les Brown will visit the school to speak at the event. 

This year's theme is, "My Degree, My Future: Claiming What's Mine".  The program, including Brown's presentation, runs from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the University Union Ballroom. 

Brown will speak at noon.  The event is hosted by Student Academic Success, Educational Equity Programs and DEGREES Project. 

To impact his audiences, Brown has been researching the science of achievement for years.  He has interviewed hundreds of top authorities on the subject and some of the top CEOs in the world. 

Brown rose from being wrongly labeled as "educable mentally retarded" in elementary school.  He worked his way up in life from being a sanitation worker to a multi-term Ohio state representative. 

Toastmasters International has labeled Brown one of the Top Five Outstanding Speakers Worldwide.  He has also received the Council of Peers Award of Excellence from the National Speakers Association.
