MIT Names Apple CEO Tim Cook Spring Commencement Speaker

Each year, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology attracts major speakers for commencement. 2017 will be no different with MIT announcing that Apple CEO Tim Cook is set to speak at graduation in the spring.
The ceremony will be held on June 9th. In a release, Cook cited the number of MIT graduates that Apple has on staff.
Cook will undoubtedly spend time talking to graduates about how they can make their mark on the world. He follows actor Matt Damon who was MIT's 2016 spring commencement speaker.
Cook originally joined Apple in 1998 and became CEO in 2011. Under his watch, they have developed the next generation of consumer products, including the Apple Watch and IPhone 7.
Before becoming CEO, Cook was the chief operating officer at Apple. He had experience at Compaq and Intelligent Electronics before joinign Apple.
Cook's career in technology began with a 12-year run at IBM. He holds a bachelor's degree from Auburn University and an MBA from Duke University.
