Shellye Archambeau will share tips gleaned from her leadership experience with top engineering executives as they descended on the University of Florida this week.  She was the keynote speaker at the Gator Engineering Leadership Summit on Tuesday.

The summit was put on by the school's Engineering Leadership Institute.  It took place in the Reitz Union Grand Ballroom on campus. 

The theme of the event was "Powered to Lead: Transforming the Future as Women".  Archambeau gave the presentation "Why Women in Tech? Why Women Now?" from 9:20-10:00 a.m.

Archambeau is the CEO of MetricStream, a Silicon Valley-based company that works in Governance, Risk, and Compliance Apps.  She serves on the board of several prominent companies, including Verizon Communications, Nordstrom, Watermark, and the Silicon Valley Leadership Group.

Many of Archambeau's thoughts on diversity and leadership have been featured in publications like the Financial Times and The Washington Post.  She is frequently selected as a guest lecturer at prominent institutions such as Stanford's Graduate School of Business and The Wharton School of Business.

Business Insider named Archambeau the second-most influential African American in IT.  Last September, she made Newsmax's list of the "100 Most Influential Business Leaders in America".
