Mental Floss Founder Will Pearson Named University of Montevallo Commencement Speaker

This Saturday, graduates at the University of Montevallo will hear from one of the most driven young people in business today.  Mental Floss founder Will Pearson will speak to the Class of 2016.

The commencement ceremony will take place at 9 a.m. at Flowerhill Lawn on campus.  The Alabama school is fortunate to be able to easily host Pearson, who lives in nearby Hoover. 

He will share some of his revolutionary approach to the publishing business in his speech.  Students will certainly be able to apply elements of Pearson's presentation to their journey into the workforce. 

Pearson founded mental_floss magazine while still a student at Duke University in 2001.  It was established to provide information and entertainment to lifelong learners.

The magazine has spun out now into a website and YouTube channel.  Last year, they took the brand to television with "Brain Surgery Live with Mental Floss" on National Geographic Channel.

Pearson has co-authored 12 Mental Floss books, including two bestsellers.  Inc. magazine has named him one of America's Coolest Young Entrepreneurs.
