There is no question that being the commencement speaker at Ohio State is an honor.  Renowned immunologist Anthony Fauci has the privilege to speak in front of the Buckeyes Class of 2016.

Fauci will address the graduates on May 8th at Ohio Stadium.  There are expected to be upwards of 11,000 students being conferred degrees.

The OSU Speaker Advisory Committee approved Fauci to speak through a nomination process.  He plans to address broad topics that he can lean back on his experience from a successful career in medicine to address.

Fauci has been the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases since 1984.  He oversees an organization that actively seeks the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of an extensive list of ailments.

HIV/Aids is a disease that Fauci has particularly fought to tackle during his time with NIAID.  He was particularly involved in establishing the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief.

Fauci has advised five different Presidents and was awarded the 2008 Presidential Medal of Freedom.  In a 2016 analysis of Google Scholar citations, he ranked as the 18th most cited researcher of all-time.
