The Hollywood Professional Association Women in Post and the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers are putting on a Women in Technology luncheon.  They will host the event on October 24th with special speaker and Marvel Studios executive Victoria Alonso.

It will take place at Hollywood and Highland Center.  The conversation Alonso is taking part in will be moderated by the HPA Women in Post co-chair, Kari Gruban.

Tickets for the luncheon are included in registration for the SMPTE conference.  They can also be purchased separately.

Last year, Alonso became the executive vice president of physical production at Marvel.  She had been in charge of visual effects.

Alonso is one of the rare women in Hollywood to ever hold a studio's physical production chief position.  She previously served as a co-producer of Marvel's Phase 1 films and became an executive producer for "The Avengers".

Prior to joining Marvel, Alonso worked as a digital effects producer for several different companies.  Since 2013, she has been a member-at-large of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
