Organizers of the E3 Summit: Powering the Economy 2015 were looking for an entertaining keynote speaker. Enter magician Jason Latimer, who presented a unique array of tricks at the event last Wednesday.
A crowd of over 500 people packed Abilene Civic Center in Texas for the summit. It was put on by the West Texas Energy Consortium and Workforce Solutions of West Central Texas.
The idea of the two-day conference was to bring together the business and education community in an effort to create unique partnerships. There was no better ice breaker than Latimer, who dazzled with his presentation and also included the audience in on parts of it.
Latimer is best known as one of the judges on the Syfy show "Wizard Wars". He is also the "curator of impossible science" at the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center in San Diego.
Outside of his Syfy TV work, Latimer has appeared on season two of the BBC One's "The Magicians" and won the UK-based competition. In 2003 at the World Championships of Magic, Latimer became one of only four Americans to win the Grand Prix "Best Overall" title.
Latimer was born in Roseburg, Oregon. He holds multiple degrees from the University of California Santa Barbara.
