One of the bigger news stories in recent memory centered around kidnapping victim Jaycee Lee Dugard. Her survival in the face of significant adversity has become an inspiring story for everyone.
Dugard will share some of that as the keynote speaker at the Protect Our Children Conference next week. It runs September 12-14 at the Kansas City Convention Center.
Dugard's presentation is titled from "Captivity to Freedom" and it runs from 9:15 to 10:45 a.m. on the final day of the conference. The registration deadline is already past to attend.
After being kidnapped when she was 11-years-old, Dugard went missing for 18 years. She was miraculously found in 2009 and now uses her experience to shine a light on the need to protect children.
Dugard helps trauma survivors with the JAYC Foundation. She has also written a book about her ordeal titled, "A Stolen Life".
In July, Dugard published a follow-up to that memoir titled, "Freedom: My Book of Firsts". It chronicles the adjustment period she has faced transitioning back into the normal world.
