Journalist Celeste Headlee Keynotes Statesville Chamber of Commerce Meeting

Journalist Celeste Headlee has a unique perspective on the world's issues. She will be able to share some of her perspectives as the keynote speaker at the Greater Statesville Chamber of Commerce annual meeting and awards ceremony.
The event takes place February 20th at the Statesville Civic Center. Six awards will be handed out including Ambassador of the Year, Small Business of the Year, Large Business of the Year, Non-Profit of the Year and Citizen of the Year.
Tickets cost $65 for chamber members and $75 for non-members. Tables are also available and reservations can be made through the chamber office.
Headlee is the host of the show "On Second Thought" which airs on Georgia Public Broadcasting. She previously co-hosted the national news show, "The Takeaway."
Headlee previously was NPR's Midwest correspondent for "Day to Day" and a host for Detroit Public Radio. While there, she was honored with awards from the Michigan Associated Press, the Michigan Association of Broadcasters and the Metro Detroit Society of Professional Journalists.
Headlee began her career working as a journalist in Flagstaff, Arizona. She holds a bachelor's degree from Northern Arizona University and a master's degree from the University of Michigan.
