Islam Expert John Esposito Speaks at St. Bonaventure

John Esposito is one of the foremost experts on Islam in the country. On Wednesday, he talked about the complicated religion with students at St. Bonaventure University.
Esposito's presentation was titled, "Islam in America and Geo-politics". The speech took place at 7 p.m. at the Robert R. Jones Board of Trustees Room in Doyle Hall.
Esposito had a great experience at St. Bonaventure. He helped establish the school's Center for Arab and Islamic Studies.
Currently, Esposito serves as the Professor of Religion and International Affairs at Georgetown University. He is the Founding Director of the Alwaleed Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding in the Walsh School of Foreign Service.
Before coming to St. Bonaventure, Esposito was a professor at College of the Holy Cross. He has consulted with major international agencies including the U.S. State Department.
Esposito is a former President of the American Academy of Religion and Middle East Studies Association of North America. He has written over 45 books and been published in countless publications.
