Interfaith Youth Core Director Eboo Patel Gives Rutgers-Newark Spring Commencement Address

Rutgers University-Newark has named a commencement speaker early for the spring. Interfaith Youth Core Director Eboo Patel is the Class of 2017's speaker.
RU-N holds commencement May 17th at the Prudential Center. Patel was chosen to speak by a school committee of faculty, staff and students.
In addition to Patel's presentation, he will receive Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree. His visit is certainly already an anticipated event.
With the IYC, Patel works to bring faith leaders together to change the narrative of conflict into cooperation. He is the creator of the White House Interfaith and Community Service Campus Challenge.
Patel has written four books. In 2007, he published his autobiography, "Acts of Faith: The Story of an American Muslim, the Struggle for the Soul of a Generation".
Harvard University's Kennedy School Review has named Patel one of five future policy leaders to watch. He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a doctorate from the University of Oxford.
