Inspirational Speaker John O’Leary Kicks Off SMSU Speaker Series

Last week, Southeast Missouri State University announced the lineup for their annual Speaker Series. On Friday, business speaker John O'Leary kicked off the festivities as the first speaker for the new school year.
O'Leary shared his "Live Inspired" presentation beginning at 11 a.m at the Show Me Center. He was a part of the new student welcome convocation.
Speaking engagements are scheduled through February when former Olympic gold medalist Shawn Johnson will visit campus. Some of the events are tickets and some are free to attend.
Since beginning his career as a speaker in 2005, O'Leary has worked with over 1,000 groups across 46 states and nine different countries. His parents' book release, "Overcoming Odds", inspired him to begin speaking and share his story.
O'Leary also serves as an ambassador for Big Brothers, Big Sisters and a chaplain for a children's hospital. He has been named one of the Top Ten "Most Interesting" People in St. Louis.
O'Leary is a graduate of St. Louis University and in 2007 he received their Distinguished Young Alumni Award. He is a bestselling author and contributor to Parade.com and The Huffington Post.
