Popular actress Sarah Drew is heading back to her alma mater. Drew is the Valedictory Exercises Speaker at the University of Virginia.
She will speak on May 20th at the school's historic Lawn at 3:00 p.m. Drew earned a bachelor's degree from UVA in drama in 2002.
The Graduation Committee of the Fourth Year Trustees chose her to speak. They favored Drew due to her alum status.
Drew has been a series regular on the ABC hit show Grey's Anatomy as Dr. April Kepner since season seven. Previously, she was well known for playing Hannah Rogers on The WB show Everwood.
From 2008-2009, Drew was a recurring character on AMC's Mad Men. She has also appeared on shows like Cold Case, Law & Order: SVU, and Glee.
Drew has had her moments on the big screen as well, most recently starring in the 2014 film Mom's Night Out. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two children.
