Grail CEO Jeff Huber has his company headed down the path of groundbreaking cancer treatments. With the strong leadership he has shown, Huber has become someone looked at with great respect.
That strong reputation allows him to return to his alma mater this spring as commencement speaker. Huber will speak to the Class of 2016 at the University of Illinois on May 14th.
The ceremony begins at 9:30 a.m. at Memorial Stadium. Huber originally received his bachelor's degree in computer engineering from Illinois in 1989 before earning a master's degree at Harvard University.
At Grail, Huber and his team are working on developing a blood test that will detect early stage cancer. He founded the company in memory of his wife who died from cancer following a late diagnosis.
Prior to starting Grail, Huber was an executive and engineer at Google from 2003-16. At the tech giant, he was a key leader in efforts to develop and improve Google Maps and Gmail.
Additionally, Huber was instrumental in technology development behind Google Ads. He currently sits on the Board of Directors at Electronic Arts and The Exploratorium.
