Google Geospatial Technologist Ed Parsons Named GSDI Keynote Speaker

The Global Spatial Data Infrastructure World Conference recently named another keynote speaker that is also a perfect fit for their event. Google Geospatial Technologist Ed Parsons will speak at the event that is being held from November 28th-December 2nd.
The Taiwan Association of Disaster Prevention Industry is hosting GSDI in Tapei at the Nangang Exhibition Center. "Spatial Enablement in Smart Homeland" is the title for the 15th edition of this conference.
At GSDI, the challenges and innovations regarding the use of geospatial data will be discussed. Early bird registration is now available until August 15th.
Parsons is essentially the keeper of Google's mission to organize the world's information using geography. He is based in the company's London office and presides over important technologies such as Google Earth, Google Maps and Google Maps for Mobile.
In addition, Parsons is currently the co-chair of the W3C/OGC Spacial Data on the Web Working Group. Prior to arriving at Google, he was the first Chief Technology Officer ever at the Ordinance Survey.
Parsons was also the EMEA Applications Manager for Geographical Information Systems at Autodesk. He holds a master's degree in Applied Remote Sensing from the Cranfield Institute of Technology.
