Tonight, Good Morning America host Robin Roberts will share her inspiring story at Southern Connecticut State University. She will talk about battling through cancer and myelodysplastic syndrome.
She is giving the Mary and Louis Fusco Distinguished Lecture at 7 p.m. at SCSU's Lyman Center. There was a limited number of tickets still available as of earlier this week.
Roberts has spurred registration for bone marrow donors with her public reports on her own battle with MDS. She also became an inspiration for cancer survivors everywhere during her battle with breast cancer.
Roberts is one of America's most respected television personalities. She has been the co-anchor of GMA since 2005.
In 2012, the program overtook NBC's "Today" as the top-rated morning show for the first time in 16 years. In addition to her fine work at GMA, Roberts also spent 15 years at ESPN.
While Roberts stands as a positive influence to many, she is also a strong representative for the LGBT community after coming out as gay in 2013. She is revered in the sports world as well and was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2012.
