Global Policy Solutions CEO Maya Rockeymoore Speaks at Public Health Conference

The New Jersey Partnership for Healthy Kids hosted a special conference on November 30th. Building a Culture of Health in New Jersey: Advancing the Population Health Agenda Conference took place at Pines Manor in Edison. 

A top leader in the industry, Global Policy Solutions CEO Maya Rockeymoore served as keynote speaker. There were over 400 attendees from New Jersey there to learn how their communities can do better. 

Rockeymoore's presentation was titled, "Inclusion Revolution: Advancing a Health Equity Agenda for the Nation." She talked about how the U.S. has a double standard for public health. 

At Global Policy Solutions, Rockeymoore leads the non-profit's effort to make policy work better for people. Before joining the organization, she was the vice president of research and programs at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation.

Rockeymoore has held a range of positions in politics, working for congressmen and the National Urban League as well. She is a former adjunct professor at American University. 

Rockeymoore is the author of, "The Political Action Handbook: A How to Guide for the Hip-Hop Generation." She is on the board of directors for the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare and the National Association of Counties.
