Through a life in the public sector, Michael D. Brown understood how to manage a crisis.  That experience is exactly what he will lean on when he keynotes The In-Plant Printing and Marketing Association's annual conference.

Brown is the keynote speaker for The IPMA Conference that runs from June 20-24 at the Omin Interlocken Hotel in Denver, Colorado.  His presentation is titled, "Personal Resilience at Home and Work: Surviving the Crisis You Never Expected".

Top management personnel from the printing and mailing industry attend this conference.  Registration is $1,095 for IPMA members and $1,295 for non-members.

Following the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Brown was appointed deputy director of FEMA.  Two years later, he became the first Undersecretary of Emergency Preparedness and Response and dealt directly with the devastation following Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

After resigning from FEMA and the Department of Homeland Security, Brown has worked for several private firms dealing with disasters and recovery.  He wrote a book about his experiences during Katrina, "Deadly Indifference: The Perfect (Political) Storm: Hurricane Katrina, The Bush White House, and Beyond".

He currently hosts "The Michael Brown Show" on 630-KHOW in Denver and News Talk 590-KCSJ in the Pueblo/Colorado Springs area.  Brown has made appearances on every major national network discussing politics and his experiences.
